What Affects Your Price
- Opening size and panel count. A standard 6-foot two-panel door costs far less than a 12-foot three-panel or a multi-slide lanai opening. Wider openings need more glass, heavier frames and more labor.
- Glass package. Clear laminated impact glass is the base. Insulated laminated units with low-E coating add energy performance and cost, and tinted or privacy glass adds a little more.
- Condition of the opening. Rot in the buck, an uneven slab, or a header that needs reinforcement adds carpentry before the door goes in. We find this at the measure, not on install day.
